Katie Holmes goes topless, discusses motherhood with ‘Glamour’ magazine

Take a look inside the new issue of Glamour magazine. Your eyes don’t deceive you; that really is Katie Holmes posing topless.

Holmes, 35, is opening up more than just her shirt. She had a pretty lengthy conversation with fashion designer Zac Posen for the spread, discussing everything from motherhood to her marriage with Tom Cruise and her new film The Giver, based on the popular young adult novel.

The photo shoot has Holmes in a variety of designer outfits but the one that will have eyebrows raised most is the shot in which she appears topless wearing only a pair of denim jeans. It’s no surprise as Holmes says she’s “always comfortable in jeans…I feel like I can really do anything when I’m in them”.

In the interview, Posen touches on many topics about her life and career. But the most important thing to her at the moment is being a mother to eight year old, Suri, her daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

“I am really focused on motherhood and work right now. Motherhood is the greatest gift,” said Holmes. “When I became a mother, my life completely changed.”

When asked just how much has changed for her, the actress explained: “I didn’t know how much love I had in me. It’s overwhelming. Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of.” She also admits she’s watched the Disney film Frozen, a lot.

Her upcoming project, The Giver, which opens on August 15, gave Holmes the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing talent. “Being in a movie with Meryl Streep was a huge dream come true. When the cameras rolled, she was spot-on and such a pro,” revealed Holmes. “It was just a thrill to walk on set with her.” But the actress is also urging young moviegoers to read the 1993 novel on which the film is based, even as she confessed to not having done so herself when the book was first published. She calls it “a really important read”.

“I loved the Lois Lowry book,” explained Holmes. “There’s this community that has decided to create a life that has no pain but also has no real joy.”
