Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson finally walked down the aisle 4th of July weekend. Everything seemed to go well for the newlyweds, but one of the big shockers was Simpson’s father being there.
Guests were treated to a BBQ the day before and that went off without any sort of problems. There was karaoke, good food and a lot of emotions – but that couldn’t compare to the actual big day. After four years and two kids together, Simpson and Johnson said “I do” to a packed house with a pretty impressive guest list.
Actors Donald Faison and Jessica Alba were in the house, as well as Simpson’s sister Ashlee and her fiancé Evan Ross. While those were expected, her father, Joe Simpson, was not. Jessica and Joe had a falling out in recent years after his sexuality was questioned. Many were led to believe he was gay after he and his wife divorced. He has yet to confirm or deny this rumor, and has since been spotted with various younger men – one of which he claims is his modeling client.
The two obviously put that behind them for the sake of the wedding which played out like a typical celebrity wedding. It was lavish, and an instrumental version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” played at some point in the ceremony. The reaction was an eruption of cheers. According to reports, Simpson and Johnson’s children played a role in the wedding as well.
This is both Simpson and Johnson’s second marriage.
