Sorry, Star Wars fans. So-called “leaked footage” from set of Star Wars Episode VII isn’t real, but if you’re a true fan it probably wasn’t too difficult to tell.
Titled “Leaked Star Wars Episode VII Filmset Footage,” most people probably couldn’t resist clicking on the video, which is why the fan-produced film has nearly three million views on YouTube.
The video’s maker, who goes by the channel name (and perhaps real name) Frank Wunderlich, has likely made several thousand dollars in ad revenue from the views generated by his work.
“Looks like the Story of Star Wars plays on Earth too in the next Episode,” Wunderlich wrote in a description of the video. “I took these pictures on my Flight back from the States to Germany at the Frankfurt Airport.”
“Seems like the biggest German airport plays a key role as an imperial starport in the new episode — there have just been imperial forces at the scene,” he added. “Maybe the Rebelboys hide in Berlin.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the video shows Imperial Forces spreading over Germany’s Frankfurt International Airport, including storm troops occupying the runway.
